In the process of living, everyone is looking for happiness everywhere. But in the[去掉] present no person knows what kind of people are favored by happiness.

In the first paragraph, the author asked there[these] questions in order to engender our thinking about happiness, because everyone has an understanding about it。There are so many different opinions about it, so in the second paragraph, he listed some different ideas of happiness from different kinds of people. Maybe they worked in different fields, and they lived in the different period[periods]. Their ideas are competing, but they all related to happiness. In short, no matter what you do, where you are, happiness is a very important thing in one's life.

In[At] the end of the second paragraph, the author reminded us that we must study happiness scientifically. But how to study it scientifically is another problem. Maybe we should do many researches on different people, and statistic their ideas of happiness, then analyze them to get a general conclusion.
