       The computer is fast, and never makes a mistake, while people are too slow, and full of mistakes sometimes. That's what people often say when they talk about computers. For over a quarter of a century, engineers have been making better and better computers.

     Now a computer can do a lot of everyday jobs wonderfully. It is widely used in factories, hospitals, banks and universities. A computer can report, decide and control in almost every field. Many computer scientists are now thinking of making the computer "think" like a man.With the help of a person, a computer can draw pictures,write music, talk with people, play chess, recognize voices,translate languages and so on. Perhaps computers will one day really think and feel. Do you think people will be afraid when they find that the computer is too clever to listen to and serve them?

    計(jì)算機(jī)速度快，從不出錯(cuò)誤。相比之下，人類不光速度緩慢，而且時(shí)常漏洞百出。每當(dāng)提到計(jì)算機(jī)時(shí)，人們常常會(huì)這么說(shuō)。二三十年來(lái)，工程師們生產(chǎn)出越來(lái)越先進(jìn)的計(jì)算機(jī)。

    如今，電腦已經(jīng)可以把很多日常工作做得十分出色。它被廣泛地應(yīng)用到工廠、醫(yī)院、銀行和大學(xué)。  電腦幾乎在所有領(lǐng)域都可以做報(bào)告、做決定、做管理。許多計(jì)算機(jī)科學(xué)家現(xiàn)在正籌劃制造可以像人類一樣“思考”的電腦。在人的操縱下，計(jì)算機(jī)能夠繪畫(huà)、作曲、與人交談、下棋、聲音識(shí)別、做翻譯等工作�？赡苡谐�一日，計(jì)算機(jī)真的能夠會(huì)思考、有感覺(jué)。到那時(shí)，當(dāng)計(jì)算機(jī)聰明到不再聽(tīng)從人類的指令，服務(wù)于人類的時(shí)候，你認(rèn)為人們會(huì)不會(huì)心存恐懼呢?
